Writing stories with page constraints is the worst.
Well, actually, if we're being honest, separating children from their parents as a deterrent to immigration is the worst. It's close to the worst we can do as human beings. It's against our values as Americans, as human beings, and as neighbors on this planet. It's heinous, and--like Japanese Interment Camps--this is a shame we will never fully wash off our country.
I had a whole thing planned for today. I wanted to talk about writing. I always want to talk about writing. But writing is empathy, and that means this week has been a steaming pile of garbage. Empathy sometimes means you take on the stress and anguish of others.

Again, for those of you in the cheap seats: We intentionally orphaned children to deter people from coming to American.
I mean...if that's what this country is about, I'll be you the plan succeeded. Who the fuck wants to be a part of that mess?
If you're like me (sexy, bald, addicted to coffee), you probably want to know what you can do to help these kids, and to help right the wrongs perpetrated in the name of...racism? Xenophobia? Oh, border security? Sure, right. That.
Here is a list of ways to help those affected by these actions.
